This low cost upgrade mod was recommended to me. Any feedback on the K & N drop in filter and performance? Easy to maintain? Do the 400 and 430 use the same size? What is the part # and where to buy online?

Thanks,

Not sure if it made any difference - maybe psychological, but I felt the car was slightly more responsive off the line.

I got it for my GS400 because I definitely noticed a difference on my previous car.

I have a 430 and sent an email to K&N because the web site didn't have a part number listed. They said that they do not make a filter for the 430 but to check back in a couple of months. It took them 2 weeks to respond to my email...

i dunno if this helps...
But i put in a K&N drop-in in my Twin Turbo 94 RX7 and i felt a difference right away. I mean even though the RX7 is a turbo charged car and responds differntly to mods but even in NA cars, especially V-8's, i would expect a slight increase in power because of the extra airflow.

just my .02

I got the TOM'S for my GS3 and I like it. The V8 probably doesn't use the same one, but the stock engine does sound better.

Don't think the 400 and 430 share the same air filter. If you're looking for performance, don't expect just the air filter to do much. At least for the V8 motor, no noticeable performance gains. Some say it feels like it does, but I think it is more psychological.

K & N is a great "reusable" filter. That should be the reason you get one.
