Default Help with custom exhaust!

tomorrow i'll be getting a custom exhaust made and i'm worried about the way it's going to sound. ill be running 2.25 inch piping from the cats to a y pipe out 2.5 inches to the back.

Everything was fine and dandy til i read some people doing custom exhausts on their 1UZ's and it sounding "like a boat", def not what i want.

i'll be using an HKS muffler, should i use a resonator?

Any help on avoiding that boat like sound?

Hey man,

I also have a custom setup on mine. Removed 3rd cat and resonator, 2.5" piping to L-Tuned mufflers. I would say that it is pretty loud. People say they hear me coming - but it is a nice sound.

The resonators are very restrictive - but they will get rid of a lot of the loudness.
