Guys,

Just found this on my camera - I took it months ago before I put my kit on.

A recap. It is custom 2.5 " piping, removed the 3rd cat and all resonators, with mandrel bending all the way back to L-Tuned mufflers.

Enjoy

not that it's a bad thing, but it kinda sounds like a Ford Stang 4.6L .

I will defintely give you a buzz. I have plans to make it louder. I'm going to try it as a bolt on. If it needs to be louder, then we can go to work.

Damn, that sounds nice. Is it that loud b/c the resontors have been removed? Or does L tuned normally sound that loud?

Yeah, it was nowhere near this loud when I just had the L-Tuned on. If you just want a sweet tone then stock piping with L-Tuned mufflers is the way to go.

If you want loud like this then say bye bye to your resonators.

I need to get an in cab video so you can hear it with regular driving. That and the SRT

Getting it dyno'd soon with the headers and S-AFC2 so stay tuned for another video!!

Sounds hot.. Is it Mustang loud when you drive by? Does it cause park cars to vibrate?

Hey Jonny, that sounds so sweeeeeeet......................

So basically you replaced the Y-pipe (right after the cats) and then the 3rd cat (after the y-pipe) and finally the resonators with straight through pipes straight from the the two cats up front (one pipe to each side)?

Have you got any pics of the setup? I plan on replacing mine just like that, but with one important difference - having an X-pipe in there.

How is the sound in the car with the windows up and cruising at 2K rpm? Tiring or quiet?

Hameed,

Thx man. Here is a picture

Yes,

from the cats ( just so I didn't have to mess with O2 sensors etc I started right after the O2 sensors which are right after the cats.) Had an X pipe made to replace the Y pipe, then dual 2.5" all the way back to L-Tuned mufflers. Everything was done with mandrel bends for added flow.

I do have an X-pipe in there!!

With the windows up and crusing it is not that loud - far from stock but not annoyingly loud. It has a slight drone but you are basically going to have that with any aftermarket exhaust.

Would I do it again - YES!

Soon I will get some sound clips of the car driving by and also in the car so you can hear it.

DASHOCKER - no, doesn't rattle any windows!! People can hear me coming - but they say it is in a good way!!

So the pipes actually intersect and the one from the right cat goes to the left muffler? Looking at the pic it appears that they are straight through from the right cat to the right muffler and same thing on the left hand side...........

Any particular reason why you went with 2.5 rather than 2 1/4 pipes? JBrady recommended 2 1/4 and I am curious to know the reasoning for your decision to go with 2.5 inch pipes instead.

I just turned up my pc speaker volume to enjoy your exhaust music!

Dx3-pic looks good. now I see why it sounds like a stang. I had a 300hp 5.0 stang with headers/flowmasters and a 2.5 inch H pipe that sounded similar.

Do you notice a loss of low end and a gain of mid to top power? I think if you had gone 2.25 you would have more low end torque
