Default GS Transmission Fluid, Spark Plugs, Tools

Hello,

I’m going to change transmission fluid and install new spark plugs in 2000 GS300. But I could not find Toyota Type T-IV transmission fluid on-line. Where do you guys buy it usually?

What brand of tools do you recommend and the best place to get them? I don’t necessarily want the ultimate and most expensive ones, just the ones that will get the job done.

Also, people seem to really like Torque Master spark plugs, but there are spelling mistakes on their websites and payment/shipment system seems fishy and the whole thing appears to be very amateur. Can you guys really vouch for them?

Thanks

well ur screename tells me u havea gs3 as do i. when i first installed the TM plugs i notice an improvment of acceleration through out the speed band, but i guess i got use to it now? i havent been keeping record but i did notice a slight 1-2mpg gain with my plugs.

about changing the tranny fluid u need a allen wrench i believe 10mm i bought that at sears for like 12bucks!!! the 10mm allen wrench also fits the rear diff too

for sparkplugs check out the DIY sticked post, link: Spark Plug Change for GS300 and my post of the coolant bypass, link: TB coolant bypass on gs300
...the sticky post was good but left me with a lot of confusion... if ur going to do sparkplugs u might as well do the coolant bypass too

forgot to mention if u do the coolant bypass the next time u need to change plugs it will be 100x easier because the throttle body comes off real easy

also about changing plugs i would get a hold of some deepsockets specifically made for sparkplug changing. it basically has this rubber gromet/ boot inside of it that grabs onto the plug when u unscrew. umm get the antiseize for sparkplugs like .97cents at autozone its right at the check desk.. you only need one packet.

oh about removing the coilpack be careful when removing it off the sparkplug you can break it....all i did was to pull from the stem part and not the coilpack itself
