used supra lsd... what to do before install?

Will the rust harm the unit???I know it's from all that salt they have to melt away the snow with up north.

sorry for the lack of response dsouth... i was hoping someone else would comment but no one has. i personally do not have enough knowledge to comment about all that rust... you mentioned road salt, but how much mileage do you have?

incidentally a friend/mechanic installed the diff yesterday in the car. it's been raining hard and the first thing i've noticed is that the damn vsc doesn't come on anymore. i can open it up now making left turns at intersections knowing with confidence that i won't be a sitting duck anymore for oncoming traffic

That's good news. I have an offer to buy a brand new unit off a 1994 TT supra for $970, so I'm not worry about this guy flaking. That's the problem of buying parts from very salted regions.
