"actually if you all check their web site. you will find that their cold air inatke w/out the ECU gives 16HP max. "

is that 16hp to wheels?? or just 16hp to crank?
16hp to crank is really around like 10 hp to wheels

and what about the AEM intake that is supposedly coming out soon? it is suppose to be around 250 dollars and gives around 13hp..
W/O cold air..

and does the weapon R intake have an ecu with it? or is it jsut the piping?

thanks

Yes it is 16HP to the wheel w/out any ECU which by the way is more than other intake around.
Their AEM should be out by call to make sure. As for the price I will not quote any for know. Again you would have to call them but I can set-up a group buy for all the members here
As for the ECU, yes they are working on something but no info. will be given yet.
As I mentioned before I am running their cold air ram intake system and man you feel the power and thats w/out any ECU unit for now.

Just stay tune and more info will be given soon.

16hp to the wheels??!?!?!?!
wow thats crazy!!! ( positive tone)
if u were to think about that, it would be like 30 hp at the crank!!! right!??!!

are u sure that is the wheels??
think about it ,the SRT only gives 11hp to the WHEELS and that is with the ECU on it..

same with the AREA 51 intake with ECU
it gives around 14hp to wheels or so..

16hp to wheels W/O ecu sounds too drastic...

the AEM intake will only give like 13hp to crank.. and that is also a reputable intake company..

so, are u sure it is 16hp to wheels for the IS300???
maybe your thinking of another car.. like the GS or something.. with a bigger engine

if you don't believe me than call Weapon R and ask for all their paper works for the IS300. The car was dyno at dynospot which is one of the best place to go if you live in northern cal.

I just took a look at their web site dyno chart: here are my comments:
1) No base line dyno given for the test car,

2) Dyno figures done on an MPH scale vs. an RPM scale, WHY???

3) What the heck are those spikes and bumps in the dyno, are those from the tranny shifting, if so then you definitely have inaccurate dyno results.

4) The run only went to about 85mph which means a 3rd gear run, inaccurate.

5) The run with the intake and cold ram air is a very short graph with a starting spike point (results in the dyno recording the spike figure as peak HP gains), AGAIN inaccurate! (the spike is probably due to them blowing air through the flexible duct tubing as shown in the third picture in the webpage top right picture).

In case you guys have a hard time navigating as every link in a new window the link to the dyno chart is http://www.weapon-r.com/dynotr2.shtml

no one really said anything bad of nagative about your product Mo so whats up.
By the way you can lock the car in 3rd for a better reading. I guess thats why your dyno for the GS4 was 225HP which is wrong?????????? Even the Techs at the dealer agrees that your readings are off alot.
No one is trying to start a war so lets not go there OK:eek:
Best way to resolve this is taking it on the road which I have already done but will do again just for fun.......

Default weapon-r

well i just got the weapon-r dragon intake and i love it..and i am getting the cold air kit in the next two weeks.. and from what i hear weapon-r is making a tunable ecu that will give you more hp than most intakes on the market but i am not sure on that...

Edawg,

great to hear that you like the intake. We will have a piggyback ECU sometime this month for the IS. I will post the results when all is done. THX

Default Intake Differences

In my experience the differences are so small as to be negligible. I look at esthetics, and the price in making my decision (when it comes to choosing between similar design intakes).
