Hey guys, before I do my SC install I wana see how you mounted your blow off valve.

I know you have to mount it onto a pipe but the bottom of the blow off is flat so how do you go about that?

a flange, and a piece of 1.5" piping welded to that flange. the other end is notched to fit the charge piping and then welded on.

Where do I go to get something like that? Also where is the best place to mount it. I hear the closer to the TB the better?

well a blowoff valve is designed to relieve the boost pressure built up in the charge piping when you close the throttle. it goes out the bov instead of hitting the fan baldes on the turbo/supercharger and trying to back spin them. over time without a bov this puts a lot of wear on the bearings in the turbo/supercharger. anywhere in the charge pipe that you can fit it, or find a position that you think looks good is fine.. location on the pipe does not matter.. same pressure all the way thru the pipe from the supercharger to the throttle body.

you should be able to get a flange from Vortech or whoever you bought that bov from.

Do you mean me??? Mine is behind the bumper so you can't actually see it - just hear it when I let off the throttle

Why would you post a pic without a blow off valve in it?

Like Epic had mentioned from my understanding It functions the same from underneath as it does from above as long as its on the throttle side. You need a flange like the others have said so whoever makes that brand bov normally sells a flange seperately, keep in mind that they migh ask you what kind of flange you need, ally or steel. It depends on what your pipeing is made of. I went for the most visible spot so we can see it in action..lol, but underneath will still serve its purpose..
