Different tranny fluid anyone?

Have been curious as to what would happen to the firmness of the auto tranny shifts with a fluid change to either Redline or just a conventional type F.
I'm worried about the amount of slip that the stock tranny allows;just can't be that good.

My Maxima buddies are in the process of convincing me to go with fully synthetic oil and a tranny cooler....
Will do soon!....Anh(another CL member here in Austin) just recently did a tranny cooler for under $150...Good piece of mind as well as adding life to your tranny...Tiny

I too am wondering about this "life of the car" tranny fluid. I have always changed the fluid @ 30K miles since I had a Celica kill a tranny @ 32K miles. My Lexus service manager assures me that I will not have to change this fluid just like the book says. I am still concerned about it though. Any thoughts? Thanks

I was under the impression that the ATF was to be changed every 15K.
Don't know where I heard that, but with the slushy way these cars shift,I'll be changing often until I find out a good way to firm up the shifts.
Really will just replace the auto with a six-speed after it bakes itself, but will give it the benefit of frequent changes in the meantime.
