Default New exhaust tip

Got a pair of Borla 20155 exhaust tips to "enhance" the perfomance of my IS350. I'd like some opinions on its appearance (the driver's side is Borla, the passenger side is stock). I encountered some technical difficulties installing the tip--there are "bumps" on the center tail pipe that keep the tip from being inserted all the way. Consequently the tip protrudes from the rear apron more than what I had intended. Is is too "ricey?"

Looks too long for me, it's a luxury car and shouldn't protrude that much. I like the size of the tip, but if you could even somehow cut the piping leading up to the muffler an inch or 1.5" it'll make it look a lot better.

Yeah I agree. They look aggressive, but they protrude way too much for a Luxury vehicle.

I've got two problems: 1) the tip is on the tail pipe so tight now that I can't wiggle it off (it's a size match, but the tail pipe is not circular all around--it's got protrusions for the stock tip); 2) can muffler shop cut off some of the tail pipe without removing the muffler and burning a hole in the bumper (I assume it's cut with a blow torch)?

Why going through so much problem for the tip. I think the stock tip look nice. Plus i have those tip on my TL now and they rust on the inside already within 2 years. If you think the stock tip is ugly and can't stand it then do the mod.

hehe...I see what you're saying, but I am stuck (literally) with this tip now. I got the tips on a whim. It's like someone drilled holes on the trunk to install the spoiler, but then decided he didn't like the result (I do like the size of the tip, but I agree it sticks out too much for my taste). The stock tips are a bit on the timid side in my opinion. Those Borla tips rusted on your TL in 2 years? It's supposed to be stainless steel.

Sticks out too much. Clean car deserves a clean mod. Try and fix it.

That's not gonna "enhance" the performance. It's purely cosmetic so it will only "enhance" the appearance. Personally, I think it doesn't belong there.

that was tongue in cheek; of course the performance is the same. It's purely costmetic, like the rear spoiler and body kit. Will take it to a muffler shop to see what can be done.
