Looks like we're doing the almost the same build. I had alot of input from Lextreme as well. I went with Ross pistons with stock compression. Looks like the speed shop is going with Carillo rods. I hope things go well with your build.

Are you just replacing the rods and pistons or the entire block. what is the stock compression ratio on the 430 motor?

Just the rods and pistons. I believe stock ratio is 10:1. I have the C2 procharger unit like the LMS setup and didnt want to lose anymore boost. Even with the smallest pulley, I dont think I can get over 12lbs boost.

Is that what your going with the smallest pulley to raise your boost.
Do you know what size pulley yours came with and how many smaller sizes they offer for the C2 Procharger? By the way how is yours coming added anything and any dyno runs since you posted picsof your S/C?

I didnt mean to hijack this thread...our builds are just too similar. The standard pulley only gave me 3lbs of boost and dynoed at 286. I bought a 2.80 pulley and my gauge put it at about 7-8. I bought a 2.25 and havent tried it yet. I think I can go down to a 2.0 but belt slippage will probably be a problem.
It currently has a cryo2 intercooler chiller, zex nitrous. SS headers are on order. Nothing new other than the engine build.I'm thinking about direct port injection for nitrous. If I cant get enough boost, I may go up to a larger supercharger as well.

Hey guys,

I hate to hijack your thread, but wasn't there a guy on here that had twin turboed a GS400? I wanted to know if and how that went. I am also planning (When I can afford too.) SC my 400 as well. I can't wait to hear what numbers you all are pulling out of the V-8.

Also, is there any (I am sure there is but i thought I'd ask.) benefits of porting and polishing the heads prior to SC the 400/430 engine?

Thanks and cheers to the new motor mods.

Are you sticking w/the I-manage for your fuel management?

This should be a beast w/ the rebuild.
It is a new block as well. I did not want to have a bunch of down time. So I drove around while the new short block was being built. I am still using the I-manage. I believe stock compression is 11:1, so by lowering the compression I can SAFELY up the boost. Thank you guys for all your comments. I will keep you posted on the numbers. My goal is 400whp. Gill when you going FI?

Before I had this new short block built/installed I was getting 349 rwhp (a gain of about 100rwhp) I have not had it dynoed with the new motor, but would guess I lost some power due to the fact that I lowered the compression. That power will be made up when I raise the boost. I am trying to get it up to 10-12lbs
