Supercharged 1999 GS400 - DONE!!
I wanted to let everyone know that I'm up and running with a freshly-installed RMM Supercharger kit on my 1999 GS400.
Big thanks go out to Jason P. from JP Importz in Garland, TX. JPI hooked me up, and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for this sort of job. His shop's customer service is second to none, and he went out of his way to get the job done quickly, and done right. He might shoot me for saying this, but he told me that he might consider making a kit to sell and install for those who are interested. Sorry Jason!!
I'd like to admit up front that I'm not an expert, gear head, or speed junkie. My only intent was to add "significant" power to my GS4, while keeping the price low and the luxury and reliability up. From the looks of it, I think I'll get all that and more.
My profile might be a little different from others - because I'm not looking to race, show, or have any "M5 Kill Stories" (although you never know - if I keep reading posts from Morris!!). My ride is bone stock on the outside, and that's the way I want it. Nothing against custom goodies on the outside, but it's just not my thing.
All in all, I ended up spending about $6k for everything - kit, some extra parts, installation, etc. And it's worth it.
No dyno results, and I'm not sure if I'll ever get them. What I can positively say is that when I hit it, this baby responds. When I get on the highway and mash down on the accelerator, my head hits the headrest like it's never done before! Completely worth the money!!
I'll post some pics later.
Rusty
PS: Thanks Morris for the initial help, too.

Congrats Rusty! Would love some dyno results so I can add you to the GS FI Registry PLUS its smart to do it so you can get the air/fuel readings to ensure your car is tuned and more importantly safely tuned.

Go head rusty good for you my friend and welcome to the club.
You sure do move fast I think you must have had that SC in hand within 2 weeks of your first post looking for more power!!!!
JP probably already checked the AF mix for you but be sure to ask, you dont want to be running to lean.
Congratulations again.

congrats on your upgrade. I think Im the same as you, by no means a speed demon or anything like that...my car, while modded on the outside somewhat, is just for cruising. Plus, I know nothing about the ins and outs of an engine to feel comfortable doing such an extensive engine upgrade. BUT..maybe I'll follow your lead one day when I feel the old gal just needs a litle more UMPH to her...
Congrats again

You're right - I found a kit pretty quickly. About 3 weeks after I posted a wanted to buy ad on the classified section here.
I'll be sure to ask JP about the AF mix, just to be safe (some others have PM'd me saying the same).

RMM S/C install
Congrat on the found power Rusty! Overall the installation isn't that bad. The kit wasn't complete, so we had to fabricate many parts to get it to work. We should be installing the wideband unit this coming week. Controlling fuel is the SAFCII, so there isn't much to play with. We will try to post some pictures of the installation if I find a way to work our lovely Kodak camera .

u said u werent much for show, but id suggest getting rid of the cats, it would still be stealth but ud notice an extra punch esp with F/I. enjoy btw for only about 200$ u cant go wrong. ps, make sure they add and extension to the rear 02 sesors so it does pickup any dirty air. just letting u know, enjoy
