I want to see an intake system similar with the ASM S2000 or Group M CF intake kit.

those big metal tube under the hood is not what I want for a car like IS.

One other option you might want to consider is K&N's Typhoon series intake kit - should be out in less than 6 weeks. Their dynomometer registered a 7-9 increase in rear wheel horesepower on my car. It will be available in a powder coated black for a stock appearance, and will also allow for the engine covers to be used - it fits right under the left engine cover.

It is not a mistake. The dyno is showing the number gain at a specific rpm. understanding a dyno is confusing if you look at max power and subtract. Look at the rpm's throughout the power band. In addition, a cold air would be great but you would have to cut a hole for the intake to go down. This is something i had to do to get the supercharger in at LMS. Also, FYI, you don't cut anything when using the Fujita intake system like stated above. It is a clean install like the Joe Z and LMS.

BTW, Wrinkle black is already available through any Fujita dealer. SR-2408B is the part number and same price as polished. Personally, the black looks really clean and stealth like.

Personally, I think the stock intake with a JoeZ pipe is about as good as it is going to get. However, I would LOVE to see someone design a hood with a ram air scoop, and a mated cold air snorkel to deliver higher pressure air to the stock air box.

so u think the joez would provide more performance than a K&N intake.. or do u mean as good as its goin to get meanin all will give about the same power and joez is the best price

I think the stock intake will provide better performance than the K&N since the K&N is a hot air / short ram intake.

I haven't read anything about his gains, but I assume that the gains were reported from a dyno test with the hood open. When it comes to dyno testing an intake, the hood needs to be down.

FWIW, I dyno'ed my stock intake with the hood up AND down, and there was about -10 whp difference. I wouldn't be surprised if that difference was -20 whp on an SRI.

hmm i just dont see why any company would release a "performance part" that can rduce your gains.. especially K&N

For the same reason there's hundreds of worthless diet pills on the market... money. There are millions of people that will spend a couple hundred bucks without a second thought on something that will make them feel better about their car. Honestly, I don't think K&N would exist without that market.
