Default Carson Exhaust vs Tanabe Exhaust !!!

Both are full exhaust from what i understand which do you guys like better and why ? Thinking about it for my GS430 ! Also i was curious to know a 430 with full catback, torque converter, Lsd, and srt intake, what type of times will it put in the 1/4 mile ?

I had the Tanabe Hyper Medallions and I replaced the resonators with straight pipe. Visually very cool (4 1/2" single walled tips) and awesome sound. IMO, zero HP.

I then installed the Tom's 6-link kit which interfered with the way the Tanabe's were piped.

I now have the Tom's exhaust (very similar to the Carson Tuned but different muffler/tips) - the center section is the same. Heavier design - IMO a much higher quality. Visually both the carson and Tom's have less impact due to smaller tips. With the resonators, the sound is deeper but softer and does not sound anywhere as mean as the Tanabe. I don't know what it would sound like with resonators removed. IMO, zero HP.

The Carson can cost 2x the tanabe (the Tom's 3x). I don't think you will see any real HP gains without cleaning up the rest of the exhaust or having forced induction.

I have the SRT, TC and 3.76 LSD. I'm estimating 13.9/14.1 in 1/4 mile. My prior runs were 14.4 with a K&N intake , TC and an LSD with stock gearing (and light 18's). As with many, getting a good launch without major wheelspin is the major issue.

So unless you really dig the look of the Carson Tuned (or Tom's), the Tanabe are a real bargain. There are other good choices as well - I'm sure others will chime in.

I have redgs4's old Tanabe exhaust. The sound is awesome. Not to loud but noticable which is nice. I think it fills out the rear a little better than the Carson but the Carson is very good quality. It really is what style you like the best. You wont get any real HP gains out of exhaust.

Thumbs up Exhaust !

So why get a full exhaust over the rear section ones if its more money and doesn't add any power either way ?

Here's the Tom's against the Tom's bumper. I would prefer bigger tips and more flush with the rear vertical.

Here's the Tanabe in the Tom's bumper - I don't seem to have any closeups in the gallery. They fill the cut-out nicely and extend about an inch beyond the bumper. I'm pretty sure I scraped when going up inclines.
