I thougt that the 6spd from the supra is a V160. The one you mentioned is the 5spd from the supra...i think.
Yes, it is possible to drop in the 6spd. As far as I know, it will bolt right onto the GS300's 2JZ motor, but I'm not so sure about the v8. It should bolt on as well since the i6 and v8 use the same tranny.
Installation and bolting it up is not the problem....the electronics and control systems are going to be your worst enemy. You're going to have to go thru quite a bit of work to get the automatic ECU to work with a manual tranny. I don't even think it will work that way.

I thought it was completely opposite from that. I was under the impression a manual tranny ecu would not work on an automatic car because it doesn't "know how" to shift. As to where when you do the auto ecu on a manual car, you will be fine due to the fact that you are shifting and not the ecu. Just wondering.
