It's really just the differences in the design of the kit. LMW chose to include an intercooler with their kit and PLP did not. Both kits run around 7PSI, which does not actually require an intercooler, though it may add a little bit of safety by cooling the intake air charge to help avoid detonation.

However, intercoolers can also reduce the intake air pressure slightly such that the effective boost level become less than 7PSI. I recall that PLP designed their Powerdyne kit to not use an intercooler because of that issue, but I'm not sure.

The PLP kit has been known to put down more power than the LMW kits, but if it were me, I wouldn't buy either kit. Toyomoto has a nice supercharger kit and the PLP Vortech kit (w/ intercooler) isn't bad, but I would suggest getting a turbo instead.
