you might wanna ask Steve Ganz, I know he had a guy doing this. I was thinking about it but i really didn't want to have my car down to long. If there was a way to do a core exchange I would be more willing.
P&P is probably one of the last things I would do. If you have everything else, and I am sure you do, this would help a lot. Just referencing my drag racing days with a honda, P&P alone gave me another .1-.2 seconds better on my 1/4 mile times.

I politely asked you to explain what the post has to do with P&P. From what I got - it was about a Unichip for an SC400, not a P&P for a GS400??

Some of the guys at Lextreme site were talking about the heads and P & P. They were saying that the 3UZFE might be the better head to swap and do on the 1U, because the ports have a better shape if they fit.
I have been wanting to get mine done to. A very old engine builder told me he thought there was about 20-30 HP at least in doing those heads. Problem was if you do the heads you might as well do the valves too. And 32 valves gets expensive $. And if you tear down to do the heads, you might as well do the upper and lowers intake. While you are there, the pistons will be staring at you saying " change me out to " ! $$$$
My aplogies for the confusion.
