Custom Intake - MAF sensor

I got a custom intake put on my IS today...sounds great. i noticed the Maf sensor in higher up on the intake than the stock one. dose this hinder the performance of the car?? Should I get this corrected??? has any one tried playing with the positioning of the maf sensor?
