Awesome Mike! Thanks for the dyno. Looks like it makes very good power for a axle back!

Okay, I must have the first batch runs. Someone hook it up!

Wanna gimme a hefty discount Mike? I'll bribe you in anyway

Anyone else think the dyno looks funny?

~306 at the crank and 245 at the wheels equals a ~20% drivetrain inefficiency.

~277 lb/ft at the crank and 200 at the wheels equals a ~28% drivetrain inefficiency.

Usually, drivetrain inefficiency is roughly about the same for both figures.

I'm not questioning the gains, as the error (if there is one) would be the same for both before and after dynos.

I contacted hopupracing. This is a SUPER price for residents outside of California.

We gotta pay sales tax, so it'll come up to around $626.

I would recommend going through the forum vendors like Carson Toyota or TM Engineering

I just noticed I output the graph data with vehicle speed instead of RPM... let me re upload the file

The main criteria I have for an axle-back, roughly in order is:
1. weight. How much lighter is it compared to stock?
2. exhaust tone and db's
3. tips/bling
4. hp gain

If the first 3 are acceptable, any gain is just iceing for an axle-back IMHO. However, if it dynos with any loss, then I wouldn't consider it at all unless the weight loss more than compensates for the hp loss.

Another video I found. Not sure who made this video. It might be yoshi's car.

No gunning of the car, Just normal acceleration.

Weighed the stock exhaust again. Stock exhaust rear section weighs exactly 40lbs(!)

I weighed a box, put the exhaust in the box, and then reweighed and subtracted the difference (for those who are wondering how to weigh a big item like that)

The Medalion Touring isnt quite an axle back, nor is it a catback. The piping starts before the rear axle

Ballzzz > There is a lot that goes into the price of an exhaust. While there are similar items from other companies, they will wildly differ in specifications and quality, just like cars.

Mmmm, I notice that pipe now.

So....is it called a in-front of axle back exhaust now?

Will this system give me any trouble with California emissions? If not, I am DEFINITELY getting this exhaust... It's the "throaty" sound I want without the loud, annoying drone or a ricey sound. I love what I've heard so far.
