This means that the stock is making .04% less than on the rating scale as the Joe Z pimp.

Also meaning the the Joe Z numbers are exaggerated and the stock intake actually makes about 4whp more than the Joe Z.

Sorry....
You are incorrect.

The SAE correction factor used by Dynojet assumes that lower air density at the sensor box means lower air pressure in the intake manifold. So in this case the software is applying a .04-percent correction factor on the #7 run to compensate for a loss of air density that the engine never sees.

And for what it's worth. Here is an updated dyno journal showing all relevant data. Check out runs 7 and 37. They are both .96 SAE correction and they are my lowest and highest. Interesting, huh?

Uncorrected:

BTW..not very positive first 2 posts you have here on Clublexus. Makes me kinda wonder what your motive is.

Thanks for clearing that up Caymandive! Great info.

BTW - I thought the other member brought up a valid question.

No motive here =-)

I'm just doing my research since I may be buying an IS350 very shortly.

My apologies about the accusation, i didnt see the different dyno room temps, i assumed they were back to back and were the same temp. A 20 deg difference is huge in terms of dyno numbers.

My initial thoughts were WTF, all these guys are buying something on the assumption theyre making more power.

Is there a website i can look at the Joe Z parts, a quick search on google located nothing.

Cheers!

I wouldn't be surprised if the K&N intake pulled harder at mid / upper RPMs. Of course, this sensation could just be caused by a reduction down low that makes it seem more powerfull up top. The change in the length of the intake could also cause a resonant hump in the upper RPMs. AEM CAIs were notorious for doing that on S2000's.

it could possibly reduce pumping losses for that power "gain" Engine doesnt have to work as hard to pump air inside

Perhaps to just give the intake some sound. One thing though that concerns me is how it will pull in engine bay air.

only so much air can flow in a hole, at lower rpms one hole might be ok. At higher rpms tho, who knows it might need a 2nd hole, and yes the intake tone will increase

I think the F sport intake is entirely about the sound.

One would hope that for almost 500 bucks it would be about more than the sound... although it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't.
