How much is it worth to know

Just kidding,

If you look at the ignighter there is a blank hole in the connector with no wire in it. Pull a pin and wire out of your olf harnes and run it to the wire in the ECU box that feeds signal to the tach. I don't remember the wire off the top of my head, but if you have a schematic for the GS300 you sould be able to find it.

burgandy Gs, doesn't the GTE come in vvti also?
and what to do with a standalone or other type of engine management and stock OBII ecu? for inspection purposes (NYC requires Plugged in OBII scan 95+ ) My supra just needs to be dyno inspected pre 95 . Thats what my 1st problem to begin with was the VVTI and the ECU/management? only reason i've been hesitain for so long on the boost. I'm addicted to the boost, it's killing me to live without it lol thanks

got a question, how are you guys locking your gear to 3rd to put on the dyno?

the aristo shift selection is P-R-N-M-D-2-L

Mine is a 99 with P-R-N-D-4-3-2-L

When i put it on D.. it's drives up to 4 gear..
when i put it on 4.. it lights up 3 on the gauge but works like D
when i put it on 3.. it lights up 2 on the gauge and goes up to 2nd gear only
when i put it on 2, it's on L with the 1st gear only.

how am i suppose to lock it on 3rd to dyno it?

is this normal?

Those ratios dont look right for some reason. Usually 4th is 1:1 on 5spd cars
be it auto or manual. In 6spd trannys the fifth is usally 1:1

I suppose its possible though. Where did you get the data ?

Yes it is so i dunno why you thought it was a 5speed on your previous post and telling me to dyno it on 4th.
Your first gen GS comes with VVTI?

I dont think you understood what I was asking.
I was asking the vvti GTE swap guys how they get it locked on
3rd since there's no gear selection for 3rd on the JDM tranny/shifter.

The Aristo V300's shifter gate goes
PRNDM2L (No selection for 3rd)

On My 99 is PRND432L

I'm only able to select D 2 and L on the driving modes.

So what i'm trying to find out is how to get it on 3rd to dyno.

EDIT: I just re-read your post for the 50th time. If yours is a 99 with PRND432L
Thats a 5spd not 4. Im probably making a mountain out of a mole hill. Where did you get the info on the gear ratios. That would clear up everything.
The below info was before I edited the post

I was under the impression that it was a fourth + o/d. That would effectively make it 5 total speeds. I drove my 94 gs3 today and it does infact go P-R-N-M-D-2-L like you said. So thats actually a 3spd with o/d = 4spd. For some reason I thought it went PRN432L with the o/d switch.
And no my 94 doesnt have vvti I should have been more clear I also have a 99gs3 also and it has the PRND432L that you talked about so 4spd +o/d = 5spd.
To answer your question - I have no idea

I've only dyno'd one auto before and I just took the o/d off and wound it up thru the gears slowly untill I hit 1:1 and brought it up to the speed where it would no longer downshift and laid on the gas.

I'm not using the GS300 tranny so i dont have the 5speed anymore. I'm using the 2jz-gte VVTI 4speed tranny.

Got the gear ratios from mkivsupra.net

Sorry, I made that clear a mud for ya. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
If not, start a thread about how to dyno an automatic and pm me with the link.
