2jz-gte Conversion

its good to see so many people going with the gte motors now. it really isnt a ton of money to do the swap. it seems to me that most are doing the vvt-i motors, but i went with the stonger non-vvt-i motor for my own car. the fuel situation gave me a bit of a fit, but i finally got that going. fitting a pair of pumps in-tank causes a few headaches i found
now i just wish mine was done and out driving around maybe in another month.

ive been dreaming about this set up for ever, i just never pulled the trigger. keep us updated..is it almost a plug and play deal..drop out and drop it back in with the exception of piping..what did you have to do for the ecu and electrical?

Well, I've been busy for a couple of days. Putting the engine in was easy, but all the little things add up. All in all, not a bad swap. Started last Friday, missed a couple of days, but it's off to get wired. Thanks for the info on the throttle cable DEXLEX, I was thinking that it might work. Wasn't to worried because it's a back-up cable.
One problem we ran into was the return fuel line. I didn't change the rail yet because I wanted to get the engine running good without changing too much. The fitting coming out of the stock rail had to be modified because it was hitting the throttle. We ran the fuel lines so we wouldn't have to later. I put two Walbro's in the tank. What a nightmare. There is barely any clearance in that tank. We had to cut up all our fittings and weld them together. Still barely fit. I ran a dash-10 feed and the stock 6 as a return. Once the car is running, injectors and rail are coming... and more boost.
Also, had to mount a new power steering reservoir, not too bad. Needed a new, smaller battery. Had to trim the bumper a little on the inside but got it back on for now. Here's a pic of the intercooler and piping. More later...

the twin walbros gave me a fit, though i ran twin -6's on mine to the new fuel system. also, which intercooler is that??? finally, i might have missed it, but what are you using for engine management???
dex- thanks for the info on the twin turbo throttle cable. i figured it would work, i just havent taken the supra off the lift yet to measure it.
