Default Another L-Tuned Exhaust Post!

I just got back last night from a week vacation and went out today to put my L-tuned exhaust on. Well it appears the L-Tuned exhausts mounts differently to my Borla. Does anyone know if there is a different rubber mount/bracket for the L-tuned as compared to the Borla. I don't remember what the original mount looked like but I thought it was the same as the Borla. Maybe the exhaust shop changed out the stock mount for a Borla mount when they installed it. Can anyone help me out on this? I want to put the L-tuned on.

I had Borlas on my 430s and watched as the mechanic removed the Borlas and put the L-Tunes on. No added hardware except what came in the box. He used same hangers and everything, Oh and new seals that it. But it was easy off easy on.

Nope when I installed mine it was just the two rubber links that hold the exhaust up and the two bolts on each side. Your exhaust shop might have changed it, if you take a quick pic and post it would help troubleshoot it a liitle more.

Here is a picture of my new L-Tuned exhaust so that you can see the mounting bracket. Is this what you guy have? My Borla has a sort of rod steel bent in an "L" shape. This L-Tuned has like an upside down "U" bracket mounted to it. I will try to take a pic of my Borla mounting tomorrow.

That is correct, The bracket will fit the hangars it's just different versions. It will still work. Don't forget these are 2 different companies. So product is of course...different. You will have no problem hanging them.

Well, after searching the site for a while I determined that the Borla exhaust comes with a different hanger system than factory. So when the muffler shop changed out my factory exhaust with the Borla they must have changed out the mounting bracket and used the Borla rubber hanger. I am going to try and go back to see if they still have my factory hanger . I really want to try out these new L-Tuned.

My Borlas didn't come with seperate hangers. The Borlas was installed using factory hangers and position. Hmmm, I guess no big deal shouldn't be a problem to order new ones or a mufflers shop may have some laying around. PepBoys is another good source.

Check out the attached post item #9. It shows a diagram of the Borla exhaust. This is exactly what mine looks like. Note bracket 44420, rubber hanger 45341 and hanger welded to muffler 45471. That is what I have on my car. The L-tuned exhaust has a completly different hanger bracket welded to the muffler as per my picture above. If anyone has a diagram/picture of the stock or L-Tuned exhaust hangers that may help clear things up.

I know Borla changed the design of the exhaust to work with the stock hangers. When I bought mine back in the the winter it was the new style and did not come with any hangers.

If pics don't show up by tonight, I'll snap a couple for you. Just installed my L-Tuned this Sunday.

Hey GWELEX. How's the fitment? Do you have any issue with the left side hanging lower than the right?

Here's the first pic I promised and one showing how mine matched up to the bumper. Now, be nice, I just drove home during a rain shower so the old girl is kinda dirty.

GWELEX, thanks for the picture . Your bracket is for sure different than mine. That is why I could not install my L-tuned. I guess I need to stop by the Lexus dealer on the way home for a set of brackets.
