Exclamation Building an 02 Gs300 Tranny? Where to go?

Hello All as in my other thread I will be turboing my 02 GS300, I know I need to have the trans built and I was wondering where people are getting theres done.

What do they do to the trans? Torque converter, valvebody upgrade, etc?

Can I keep my E-Shift? This is a big thing for me.

Also I am assuming it would shift much harder and faster under heavy acceleration but still smooth under normal driving conditions?

Thanks!

How come you need to rebuild the tranny? Unless you have some kind of forced induction you won't really need it. They usually redo the valve body, and toughen some parts up. Obviously the downside is that it will shift harder/fimer. It's all up to whoever does the mods, but they can adjust how stiff it will be when building it. However, once it's done its set. I don't think you can change the settings without pulling the tranny apart again.

Everything I've read says don't even bother building the tranny in the GS300. Even built they can't handle much and will break.

I'm sure some work out just fine. That's why I put "everything that I have read" since I don't have any experience with it. How much HP are people making on their trannies and having them last?

plenty.....well atleast enough to handle the power that you're looking for. I read you were looking for about 500hp?

XBS1, it looks like IPT is the answer for your questions. It would be really nice to hear how much power people are running on their trans and staying reliable in a daily driver.
