There's absolutely nothing wrong with Titanium. It's a waste for their application. What weight are they saving replacing the tips with titanium over aluminum or stainless? Maybe a pound at best. I think it's a sales gimick.

Now as you were saying.... the whole catback exhaust in Titanium....... you could save 40-50 pounds or so but who could afford them? It would be exceptional though!

from what i have heard on other forums, megan products are not that bad, they are a inexpensive way to purchase parts like down pipes and such without paying for the name, there coilovers are supposedly rebadged Apexi units. as for the price, i was quoted around 575-600 for the tanabe..........so 900 is pretty steep for an off brand IMO

megan's crap is all knock offs made in taiwan..

nothing wrong with made in taiwan.. but when it comes to coilovers and shocks.. i donno

and a grand for a ebay brand exhaust??

megan originally started as a ebay knockoff seller.. than they started selling their stuff as a distributor.. ive been to their office back in the days when they were only an ebayer.. more recently i think they started doing their own r&d on exhausts and stuff

model way of growing a business from nothing to something tho

I agree. I think people get caught up with the buzz words 'true dual.' While I've seen true duals make good power v. singles, they usually don't overcome the weight disadvantage which affects every other aspect of the car.

This just my personal opinion, based on my experiences, but from working in this industry and being very familiar with this manufacturer...i would never put a Megan product on any of my vehicles, let alone a Lexus.

This is your standard fare, MIT ebay company that parasitically leeches off the designs and marketing of other companies that actually spend the time and money to properly engineer and manufacture good products and then produce a sub-par copy with lower quality materials, faulty jigs, and unregulated manufacturing standards to sell in high volumes at a low cost. They have zero regard for quality, road-worthiness or safety...only for sales.

I've heard that for single exit catbacks, dealer cost is $200..

To an extent, there is no stopping people from buying this junk because the price is right, and they chrome or polish the hell out of it out (which will in turn stress the welds causing premature failure) to catch the eye of the unwitting consumer by appearing to be 'nice'. While they will initially work, i've personally seen quite a few of these systems for other cars like 240sx, wrx, evo, etc blow out or simply break within 6 months.

I generally never comment on other manufacturer's parts, but putting parts like this on a Lexus is unnacceptable in my opinion. Everyone is entitled to make their own judgement on parts like this...but seriously...buyer beware.

Buying something good once is better than buying something below average and having to replace it many times.

From this video, this could end up being a pretty good exhaust system. I'd choose the Megan over the Tanabe anyday after watching this video. What kind of exhaust do you have to make such a negative comments about Megan.

hutch use the edit button damnit

and a true dual might not be any better than a 2->1->2 setup. true dual systems are a nessecity for v8s, especially with x/h pipes to balanace pressure. with a v6, it doesn't really matter. hence why factory is350's, m3's, Z's and the like all share a pipe somewhere along he line..

I really like the sound of the Megan exhaust videos, but I am REALLY leaning toward the Borla. Hopefully it will sound as good.
