Default K&N Typhoon Intake System

Been waiting for this a long time. Short Ram Intake with heatshield.

This is actually a production unit, it should be out really really soon. I had some issues with the hose clamps. The install took me about 45 mins because its not as simple as I thought it was going to be and my engine was still pretty hot. Anyway, it looks great, sounds great. I'll go driving more later and let you know how it is.

I don't know how much it will cost. I was one of the test fitters back in like february. I went to K&N and they handed me the box.

No that's a heat shield. It incorpartes the front air hood scoop thing to get cold air just like the stock air box does.

I don't see that heat shield holding much heat out at all. Looks more like a gimmick to me..

the heat shield just covers the sides of the intake.. the engine cover covers the top.

a comparison of KN, joe b, fujita, and LMS would be great, it would be good to see which one gets more bang for the buck.

personally for me, it isn't the HP gain, but the deep sounds, and i hear the sounds is great in the Fujita

The sound is really nice. LOL. At first I didn't really notice it, but then you get the real nice deep throaty sound at WOT.
