Default My IS300 2001 Motor = TOAST!!!!

Well, after careful diagnosis it turns out that my bottom end has spun a bearing! So...instead of spending the labor to get that fixed I've picked up a realatively new motor. New motor has 7,000 miles so I'm in the process of getting that done.

Now, my question is...is this common or has anyone even heard of this happening? The car was never raced nor modified.

Maintenance was performed, oil was changed every 3000 miles with Mobil-1 full synthetic and it was a daily driver, no abnormal driving or abuse.

Right now, I don't know whether to keep the car or try to sell it with the new motor. Also, Lexus replaced the transmission as well so the car has a new motor and tranny!

Now, my wife and I have owned several Supras and recently sold a landcruiser which had 172K miles and this our second IS300...first one was flawless so I'm hoping what has happened is a fluke.

Does anyone know of this happening or other major issues with the IS300??

Your input is greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!
