Default GS300 making a "Unusual Noise" sometimes when accelerating - Anyone have any ideas??

Have a 99 Gs300 with 125K on it.

when I accelerate not from the start but sometimes past 40 mph it make a kind of Odd noise as it is shifting/accelerating? I just did a regular transmission oil change by dropping the pan (versus having it sucked out by a machine) the first few days the noise seemed to go away. Now its back, it is very infrequent but still does it wondering if its my tranny or engine or if anyone out there has experienced this?

Thanks!

1. maybe it's time for a new tranny J/K
2. maybe wrong type of fluid
3. maybe go back to that service tech and ask

First thing is to make sure you are using factory tranny oil imo. Second make sure tranny fluid is filled up correctly this is important because when you drain the tranny there is no fluid running through all the gears so make sure you feel, check, and refill til it is full. I had my stock tc, and rearend put back to stock and it was making a weird sound too like metal rubbing on metal when accelerating. But now after a day of driving properly checking, and refilling everything is quiet.
