Question Welded Muffler??????

I have me an HKS Hi Power muffler for my GS3.

Looking under the car to see in what condition the bolts attaching the stock muffler are in I noted that the suckers are tack welded on the nut side.

Is this normal from the factory?

Looking at those things I might as well get me a chissel and hammer away to knock those off

I'm looking for input on how to work around this issue....

The nut side is welded on.. its normal.. when you pop off your stock mufflers, you just bolt up the new ones with the stock bolt... if yours are rusted, like mine were, then the bolts might break, and you'll have to break or grind off the nuts... its no biggie...

Hey Ed,

Thanks for the encouragement.

I know you have been busy and what not....

I thought this can be a good DIY project for me.

I'll yake your advice and hold off on it.

I have some business travel coming up next week. Maybe we can touch base over the weekend to plan.

Thanks.

P.S. Keep an eye on "Ernesto"

Yep, the nut is welded on there, but it's on the stock muffler. Not the Y-pipe. You're not gona run into any problems. Just goto your nearest car parts store and get some new grade 8 nuts n' bolts and you will be good to go
