Changed Spark Plugs
Hi all. I finally changed my spark plugs this Saturday. I have 95500 km. The job took me about 1.5 hours. I was surprised as how easy it was to get at the plugs. Others cars I have worked on is almost next to impossible. The one near the brake booster was a bit tricky, but went well. I used the NGK Iridium IX (model no. BKR6EIX-11). The original plugs were DENSO (see pics). Have some buildup on the tips. Yuck. Since I have changed them, the car runs smoother and is responsive.
Last weekend I cleaned my throttle butterfly thanks to a DIY in this forum. Thanks to those members. The car runs a lot better and I have noticed an increase in fuel economy. But I have noticed that when I start the car in the morning, the revs are up to 1200 RPM and take about 4-5 min to bring back down to 800 RPM. Should I disconnect the battery to reset the car or leave it and let it learn to adapt on its own? Please advise. Thanks.

Same issue here. After cleaning the TB, mine idles around 1,200 RPMs when cold. It really doesn't concern me too much, but I wonder if it's bad for the transmission to put the car in reverse when the RPMs are that high.
