And no, going to your local muffler shop will not yield the sound results I'm looking for.
For the price, I'll stick with the Tanabe Medallion Racing Exhaust. I own it, and it looks nearly the same and sounds great. It is also an Axle back for only $625 (shipped).

I can well afford to drop $1500 without thinking too hard about as well, but I do want value in what I buy.

If your happy paying thrice the value for a laser etched logo and bragging rights at the local hood poping 5 and dine, then go right ahead. It's your cash. Hell, roll it up and smoke it with your buddy Mr Grant if your so loaded.

But those who have the slightest desire in the value of the product should past this set of cans up.

Just because you don't see the value does not make it nuts. To some of us, the G + + on "sounding cool" is not a big deal. I myself would like a better sounding exhaust and don't mind paying for it. It has value to me and I can easily afford $1500 dollars. Therefore I don't consider myself nuts and your opinion on how I spend my money means nothing to me or anyone else.

I agree, if you like something you should get it, i enjoy this exhaust and will probably treat myself to it in the near future. Although I do not think the value is as good as it is on the Tanabe, I prefer this exhaust....

I see both of your points...I too think value is important in what you buy, but you should buy want you want. I dont beleive just because this price is higher, someone who wants it should "settle" on a different, cheaper exhaust like the Tanabe (althought it is not a bad exhaust). But please lets not turn this into a immature cyber fight here...

Well freaking brilliant. Since you don’t find the value in them, I guess I will have to pass. Thank you for your fact based post that has helped me to make an educated decision!! You really help add to this forum

Sounds awesome, looks awesome. Maybe a little expensive but you're getting very high quality in this product. No exhausts, besides the Tanabe, have I seen any exhaust go for below $1000. Everything seems to be up there in price, and sure this is a bit expensive but it's the quality you pay for really.

Of course there is better out there, or will be better performing exhausts soon to come but personally, I can't wait, I have the fever for mods, haha! To each his own, it's like persuading a teen that his fart can sounds like ***, he doesn't care because he likes it.

Wow... so much animosity... I'm one of the "stupid ones" that would fork out the greens for an HKS part. They just proto'd my car for the 3rd gen GS piece.

Yes, there will be an "HKS" piece that is non-Lexus associated for the ISx50 being released soon, so the price may drop. The GS piece is speculated to be priced at $1100-$1250 MSRP with the external resonator, so go figure the IS piece should be within that range or even lower... If you want to spend the money, buy the TMS-HKS part now. If not, stop talking cr@p and wait for the actual HKS release...

As to my present stupidness, I purchased Apexi N1 Titanium cans @ ~$650/can (I can't remember exactly) and had the piping built and installed for me for ~$300. So I spent $1600. I love it and I know that all the haters that think I'm stupid also at the same time would not mind having what I have. In the 3GS forum, I've gotten nothing but compliment and the few that think I was crazy for forking out that type of cash just say so... No name calling... Opinions are welcome, but let's not put each other down...

Pics from my prototype fiting. And yes, Y-Pipe included... (keep in mind that these are not final production pics)

They're external resonators that dampen the resonance/droning between 2k-2500 RPM... My Apexi is annoying around that range when I remove the silencing baffles so I keep them in all the time. Plus the fact that I don't have enough backpressure w/o the baffles so my torque sucks when they are removed.

Is the exhaust HKS is going to release independent of Lexus(not the one currently out) going to be a resonator or catback? Because I personally would rather spend 1k+ on a cat back? And is LMS the only company out with a catback?
