Default 2JZGTE 6 speed in GS300?

I currently have a TT Supra, but am interested in a 6 speed swap into a GS. I have seen autos, but never a 6 speed GS with a swap. Has it been done and if not why hasn't it been done? I would imagine AEM EMS would be necessary along with a custom guage cluster set-up.

It has been done. One of our fellow member (Gs3power) that lives in PA has that setup. He usually comes out to the meets.

he's redone his interior/gauges since then but i think this was when he first did it

Also check out the NELOC forum since your in NY. We have a meet coming up.

It would probably cost you over 5K if you already had the motor.

Props for having a 6 speed and all, but that interior looks horrible, I hope he re did it. Why ruin a perfectly good interior, if you want a 6 speed buy a car that comes with that option, dont just chop everything up.

I completely agree with you - but I did read in a previous post that he fixed it. Would be a shame because it is a beautiful car

I'm almost finished collecting all my 6 speed parts. I ended up getting a brand new getrag and I will be using a gs430 rear end with the 3.266 gearing (us 6 spd supra is 3.13 and the jdm 6 speed is 3.23?). All I need now is my clutch, LSD and DS. But I wont be installing it until my motor is done being built.

Also, I plan on using the stock gauges and making the interior look as though it came from the factory that way.

Care to elaborate on how? When you mean stock guages, do you mean stock GS guages or stock supra TT guage cluster?

Sorry to hijack. But what Is a good year to Do the 2jzgte and 6speed swap on?

1st gen or 2nd gen?

I like the 2g body, but I wondering which year yall would recommend to swap?
pros and cons?

What about Emissions?
Can a 1996+ gs300 be swapped with out with a non vvti motor and still pass the OBDII plug test?

Also Is there any links or documentation to The gs300 motor and trans swap?

thanks

I'm not sure which car it's better to do a swap on, but I do know for sure that once you swap the motor....say goodbye to passing the state inspection. If it's a JDM motor, it probably won't even have the correct interface with US emissions testing equiptment.

Thanks for the reply.

I assume when yall are swapping the aristo you dont change out the engine wire harness? and the OBDII port should still be there in the gs300, just not active since the aristo ecu does not conform to us obdII tests...

Can a 96+ USDM supra ecu be used in a 96+ gs300 with a swapped motor and 6 speed?

Is the wiring between the OBDII gs300/aristo totally differnt from the obdII mkiv supras?

I really would like to do a 2g gs300, But IL is pretty strict on emmissions, BUt if it can pass the obdII port test Im gold...

If not then a 95 and under GS300 is what I should look at...and hope the car passes on the emmisions dyno with teh supra motor?

Thanks

There are many auto 2jz swapped GS's running the stock cluster, I don't see whats so difficult in running the same gauges with the 6 speed. I had grip industries get all of my stock gauges running in my auto SC3 that I converted to 6 spd.
