There is a TSB on this issue.

EG017-06 EXCESSIVE SULFUR ODOR
8/1/2006 - 2006 model year IS 250 and IS 350 vehicles.

Some customers may complain of excessive sulfur odor on 2006 model year IS 250 and IS 350 vehicles under the following conditions:

 Stop and go driving
 Heavy acceleration

In order to reduce the sulfur odor, a new catalytic converter assembly has been made available. Follow the repair procedure to replace the catalytic converter assembly.

NOTE:
For more complete understanding of the root cause, refer to TSIB No. EG001–03,
“Sulfur Odor from Exhaust.”

Mention it to your lexus service manager...

hth!

Its the new exhuast breaking in. It should go away after 500-1000 miles.

Yes, it's done free, as it's covered by the warranty.

My Salesperson said something about this happening the first couple of nights I had the car but I dident smell it until after I accelerated and braked heavily, I have a 2007 IS 250 RWD though... Should I ask them to check this out if it continues after 1000 miles?? Im at 680 miles right now...

Technical Service Bulletin. It's basically a notice a manufacture sends to the service department of dealers stating a problem that needs to be fixed on a certin vehicle.
