Default k&n intake VS Fujita intake

yes i did use the search function and i found a good amount of stuff on fujita but not as much on k&n. i was not able to find a direct comparison between the two either so thats why im posting... sorry if this makes anyone angry :-(
i have heard alot of good things about k&n and fujita, but then i have heard some bad things about fujita but not aboue k&n and there has to be something negative about because... well everything does unfortunately. any help on the subject would be great. thanks alot!

i know ppl said its louder, but is it louder than the k&n and does the fujita really get a 20 hp again? or is that exaggerated

I can hear it on my car, but can't "feel" it. I have the F5.

If there was a 20hp gain somewhere you would be able to feel it. Must be bogus.

I don't see Cayman making that claim anywhere in his post.

I did a full review which you can access by clicking here or by clicking on the word "intake" in my signature. The only thing I have to add to the review are some slight modifications I've made to the intake:

1) I replaced the hose clamps with some longer ones,
2) I upgraded the insulation in three places:
  • Around the cavity that fits around the cool air scoop,
  • At the top of the heat shield so it would physically come into contact with the left engine cover,
  • Along the base of the heat shield.
All of this was done to provide a better seal from hot engine air, and encourage as much of a vacuum as possible so as to take advantage of the stock cool air scoop. However, as soon as I started this project I realized that it wasn't really necessary, as the intake was already sucking air through the stock scoop, as indicated by the accumulated area of dust/dirt on the filter in the picture below:

As for sound, I've heard them both and they are pretty much the same. The K&N is a little louder at WOT, but it's not a huge difference.

hmm yeah i havent really heard anything bad about the k&n intake so i think ill just go with that. hopefully the performance increase can match the fujita if not surpass it. one thing thouhg... fujita claims to have a 20 hp increase with the intake and k&n says 11, does the fujita actually give that much more or is it a little exaggerated?

i have the k&n in my is 250 here in europe . and i was the first here so i had to go to k&n europe eindhoven where they did a dyno with my car. around 8 extra hp and 10% extra torque not very precise to see on the print.BUT i feel the difference around 3500 to 5500 rpm (torque) and the sound is superb.if you accelerate slowly (with my wife and kids) you won't hear it but once you floor it a v8 sound is what you get
