Glad to hear that. Your engine and transmission stay put when you change gears, so no clunk anymore. How good it is to have a car that really runs right.

I am proud of you, ha ha!

lol, yea I love it. Just a shock when I am parked, go into reverse, and if there is someone with me that pays attention, they notice right away that the car didn't even jerk.

I will do it tomorrow. I forgot my notebook at home, and my camera is in my car, which is at Lexus today getting some unexpected TLC.

Crap sorry bro. I forgot completely. I will upload them tonight from home. But basically I don't think you can tell that they are messed up while on the car. The rubber part on top, that gets a tare all the way around, the only thing keeping the mount connected is the middle part of that rubber. Think of it is a pillow mount, with a tare going around the circumference, the inner part is the only thing keeping it together. I could not tell that the mount was messed up at all. But my buddy who works at Lexus, noticed the vibration and said that it is the engine mounts right away.

What I have also noticed with these mounts replaced is that I do not feel if the car is on. I tried to start it twice already while the car is on. It's kind of cool the car shuts down, and you have to actually start it up again. Another thing is that you barely feel the car going into reverse, or drive. Sometimes you are not even sure that it engaged the gear. Super smooth. My GS with 103k miles idles and runs smoother than the SC430 with 60k miles. I love the GS, especially with everything that I have done. It literally feels like a new car.

Yea, see where the mounts are together laying on the floor, you can barely see the tear, now then they are on the car, with the engine compressing them, you will never see that rip. If you have a way of lifting the engine up a little bit, you will then see the rips. The other way that I was sure that my mounts were done for, is that in Drive, standing still, no accessories on, my car vibrated hard-core. In Reverse, standing still, no accessories, barely any vibration. Hope this helps everyone.

Oh, and in order from the Top (first picture). 1st and 4th picture is the same mount, just different angles, drivers side, noticebly more damaged. 3rd and 5th picture is the pass side. 2nd picture, is both of the mounts side by side.

I do a lot of my own work on my cars, but this I just didn't want to do. You have to take out the under tray, the oil filter lift the engine, drop the subframe. PITA if you ask me.

i too took my car out to get new mounts simply because it was going to be too much of a hassle for me.

But when the mounts were finally in the car, I was thinking "did I just buy a new car?" I was not use to the smoothness. heh.

Thanks Slick/Chuck. I just got a quote today for the mounts from Sewell and they are around $175 (I assume that's for the pair). I'm debating whether to have the mounts swapped out during my upcoming 90k service.

just got back from dealer. my tech and service writer really make lexus look good!

tech sat in car with me, started it, I turned off ac and he said "yup" motor mounts. took about 30 seconds.

they are doing both motor mounts and trans mount under powertrain warranty tomorrow.

Man,
This is getting better and better. Seems like we should have gotten a "group buy" on the motor mounts.
