I can't even see the MAF sensor mounting plate.. unless its going to be side mounted...

Plus, I don't think the 90 degree elbow will work on an IS350..

True i went to their site and they don't have it yet. I went to their new product page couldn't find it either. Why would Injen sell a product that they don't advertise on their site. I'll wait till they have it available on the site and then buy directly from them.

 

It seems trivial to me that the benefits of any intake can be verified by monitoring MAF and IAT data via OBDII. If the MAF voltage increases across the RPM range, then more air is flowing. If IAT increases, then it's sucking in hot air. It shouldn't be too hard to calculate oxygen content from temp and volume changes.

 

Here are a couple. Dyno gains from Injen were very significant to the wheels with the intake and exhaust (15hp+). All cats are still in place. I have not seen the dyno sheet yet so please do not flame me. I am just repeating what I have heard. The car sounds great! It feels quicker but maybe that is because I haven't driven my car in over 4 months I know that Caymandive and others have dynoed their intakes with other combos and many did not make horsepower. I will try to get a copy of the dyno sheet and will post once I have it and get the ok to do so. PM with any questions.

It looks really good from the pictures you provided. Has this intake been released yet?

 

That intake tube looks interesting how it reduces in size around the flow sensor then enlarges again. I'm sure there is a technical reason for that, possibly to help with low end torque.

 

If the diameter at the MAF is different from stock, then the ECU would miscalculate air flow.

 

Could we get some photos of the air box area please?

Wondering if it uses the stock air intake to some degree, although it seems like its not sealed so the cool air would be contaminated with hot air. Looks like the stock air box is removed and it sits inside that space but with no way to prevent hot air to come into the intake.

 

I guess you can build a box on your own to prevent the hot air from mixing with the cool air, only when you do that it's the same thing as getting a Joez intake pipe. After doing all the reading, I believe the Joez intake is the best for both performance and money.

 

Sooo does anyone know when the actualy company is going to start selling this CAI. I'm not gonna buy a CAI off ebay...

 

Yeah I agree with ya there. Maybe they designed it to intentionally miscalculate airflow to trick the ecu for "potential" gains.

Injen intake looks longer than the Fujita. It also looks as if the position of the filter is lower, as in tucked more into the engine. Can anyone see this?

I think they are both pretty close to the same spot in the engine bay. Not sure since in the Fujita pics all the panels are off.
