Dyno results are pointless without before / after testing.

Any update on this?

dyno results are pointless period..

take both intakes to the track and lets see some quarter times. only takes a few minutes to swap intakes.

too many variables on a dyno. was the hood up, was it down. was there a fan, how strong of a fan.......

I really like my IS350 and have always bought aftermarket for my vehicles. Some brands, you can't go wrong with because of the quality. Back in the days, we didn't have dyno facilities so you just bought the part and raced with the part. In other words, we all used the butt dyno. Now everybody cares so much about a number on a piece of paper which would vary from vehicle to vehicle anyway. Everybody's setup is different. Since I have the car and I could ask R&D to build anything I want, don't you think we tried many, many variations? Hood open, hood closed, too much discussion. I am not putting anybodies theories or facts down. I know for sure that the dyno fan is nothing close to actual air or me driving 80 mph. All I am saying is have fun with your car. Enjoy each part you add onto your car. Test things out for yourself and make your own conclusions. Hey I work at Fujita, I had an intake, I wanted more power, now I am supercharged and love it. And to answer the question about Injen earlier, yes I was a founder of Injen and still own a part of it but other than that I no longer have anything to do with that brand. Anyway, as a member and car enthusiast, again just have fun.

Not trying to go off-topic in a long debate, but there are WAY more variables at the track. All the variables that you mentioned about the dyno are easily controlled.

Correct, there are many variables on the track and on a dyno. You have to admit you can bring in 5 IS350's and dyno them (all stock) and the numbers will be different. Altitude, outside temp, and humidity also play a factor. However on a Dynojet there is SAE correction factor. The forum is a great place for all of us to go to get help and advice. I try to take advice from people that have bought the part, tested the part, not somebody that just "thinks." We will bring in the IS again, do more testing, and if there is a change we see that can make more power, we will send the vehicle and prototypes to an independent facility for their results. That way, everybody will feel their getting real results.
