Megan Racing says headers will fit IS350!
I sent Megan Racing an E-mail asking if they had any plans on making a set of headers for the IS350. Here is there reply by Steve…
“The IS250 headers fit the IS350 but you REQUIRE an O2 Simulator because the
car will be thrown into a Null mode and won't go past 15mph with the Check
Engine Light on.”
Can anyone confirm or deny if this is in fact true?

they probably would. the cats rob most of the power out of the 350, hence why the LMS exhaust makes 20hp. so removing the primary ones all together, which i believe the megan headers do, would probably yield at least 10hp. just in my guess-timation.

Where can we get an "O2 Simulator " for the IS350? I am an old time musclecar guy so anything to do with a newer car is a bit over my head. He3aders sound like a good idea to me if they do make power for the car.

The American companies that make (made) O2 sims have quit making them due to fears of the EPA. I have some freinds that own Texas Speed and Performance, a Corvette/ F-body company and they said no more O2 sims are available (for U.S. cars) I'm not sure if Imports are any different.? By the way the sims are for the 2nd sensor (post cat) ,you still have to use the front.

Did the 250 require an O2 sim? I don't understand why the 350 would if the 250 didn't. And if a O2 sim came with the 250 headers why won't it work on the 350?

On fuel injected engine with two headers or manifolds(a V engine) you have four sensors, 1 in front of the cat, 1 after the cat, per side. The first measures how rich or lean you gasses are and adjusts to a certain level, usually around the number 13 larger is leaner, less is richer. The sensor after the cat tells your computer if you cat is working. If you don't have a sim or you can't program your computer to disregard the imput, it will throw a check engine code. Even Indy cars use O2 sensors (1 per side) that way they read exhaust gasses and run rich or lean. You can also use gas temperature leaner is hotter richer is cooler but you have to measure per cylinder.

Tuning by EGT is way old school. 5 gas analyser is by far the best. It never falses the way WB O2 or EGT can on misfires.

Ive been wondering how is it that a header designed for the 250 works on the 350. Aren't these two different motors yielding very different numbers. I see it kinda weird someone with real R&D behind it designed for one engine works well on another. On a side note if anyone wants to make their 02 sim for about $5 check this page outhttp://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...ic=229959&st=0. i've used it on two cars s2000, 350z both brand new cars and works like a charm. I just don't know if the thread size used is the same as our cars.
