Default Turbo Kit Questions

Turbonetics has a turbo kit for the GS300 but it specifies that it is for the 93-97 GS300. I have a 1998 GS300 will this kit work on my car? Will I need to add or subtract any parts to make this kit work on my car? Here are the specs from the website.

Turbonetics Turbo System Features:
- Patented Turbonetics Ceramic Ball Bearing Turbocharger (T3/T4 Hybrid or T04E)
- Spearco W.A.V.E. Technology Intercooler System
- Black Chrome Coated Piping
- High Pressure Silicone Hose and Heavy Duty T-Bolt Clamps
- Evolution External Wastegate
- Turbonetics Raptor By-Pass/Blow-Off Valve with polished discharged horn
- High Carbon Cast-Steel Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel / Timing Management System
- Additional Fuel Injectors
- Mandrel-Bent Downpipe with Closed-Loop Wastegate Discharge
- Intake System and Turbonetics AF-1 Air Filters
- All Necessary Hardware, Lines and Fittings

a lot of the parts aren't meant for your car like the down pipe, maifold probably won't line up to your engine, The piping is pre bent for a 1st gen engine and engine bay so thats no good. I think your better off looking for something that is meant for your car plus you have vvt-i to worry about this is for the non vvt-i ge motor.

the manifold was made to clear the 1st gen ge w/ the distributor. And also like what Adrian said, piping will not match your car and would need to be modified as well.

If u want something cheap, you can probabaly look into getting an XS Power kit that will fit the 2jz-ge VVTI's. for $1299 or so, it comes with manifold, turbo, intercooler, wastegate, bov, downpipe (will need to be customized)

But still would need to custom all the pipings and get a fuel management (biggest issue is tuning for our obd2 ecu)

ahhh that kit is not recommended for your car ... but theres nothing wrong with it... and actually adrian that manifold will work for hiscar since he's GE still
but eitherway thats an exspensive kit that you can still use ... that manifold isnt clocked its just pushed further back. (i kno cuz i had this kit sold to a fellow member) and as for the XSpower... thats a perfect kit for you with no fabrication at all ...( i take that back with minor fabrications)

Xspower is the same as ss autochrome, they are garbage! You get what you pay for, that rule always applies, and if anyone would like to do more research on their products id say visit www.honda-tech.com and search for it, there is plenty of info proving just how bad their products are!

Not trying to thread jack here but XS's products have improved. I know of a couple supras on SF that use their manifolds and other parts.

For the price of that kit, you can just get a SRT Turbo system
SRT stuff seems to be reliable

Not going to work as everyone has stated here. On the other note...the majority of the XS power stuff has improved. I know several people that have been very successful with there new stuff. If you want some additional info hit me via PM, so we don't go off topic here.

I'm going NA-T so I'm in the same boat as you. Stay tuned for my thread on my progress. I was suppose to do it months ago except that family life has kept me busy.

There is also tons of info in regards to this with the 1st gen IS guys since they share the same motor as we do (2JZGE- VVTi). So you may want to check out www.my.is and you should also check out www.clubna-t.com
