Questions about intakes, please help!
I'm thinking about getting one...
Which one? Why?
Are they ok for cold weather driving? (Chicago)
Easy to instal?
Best cost, where to get it?
Thanks!

hahaha........i don't know if you notice your typo or not......but it's SRT and Area 51....haha....and those 2 intakes are probably the best out there on the market..........with piggback ecu which adjust air ratio.......
with an short ram intake like AEM or RMM.....you are better off with a S-AFC which needs some tuning.........

Which one ? AEM with S-AFC because it can be customized to your car (exhaust, headers, cam gears, pulley etc)
Are they OK for cold weather driving ? Sure hope so.
Easy to install ? AEM intake itself is by far easier than Area 51 or SRT. These two require you to solder wires to your ECU. The S-AFC however will be considerably more difficult than the soldering of either piggy back ECUs for the do it yourselfer.
Easy to tune (you didn't ask)? AEM with S-AFC will require tuning, either by you or someone who knows what they're doing. This necessity makes getting the AEM/S-AFC combo tons more difficult than Area 51 and SRT because those two are already pre tuned (to some generic car, which might not have your specific mods).
Best cost ? Area 51 with BB will run over $650 (throw in shipping)
SRT - dunno.
AEM + S-AFC will run over $500, if you take it to a shop, figure on another $2-300 for install/tuning, but you get proof of horsepower gains (dyno).

I got my A51 for $600 shipped, on a group buy. I think the SRT runs $575, + shipping. Both are great products, but I opted for the A51 because it is a closed element system which cuts some noise and in my logic, lessens the heat being sucked in from the engine bay.
I'd shy away from any of the other intakes IMHO.
