I am buying a magnaflow muffler with a 2.5" ID inlet. Will 2.25" ID inlet tips fit? Magnaflow only has 1 tip that is 2.5" ID and it is the Tanabe and I dont care for the looks.

The whole exhaust system is not 2.25" It varies from 2 to 2.25" The secondary cats for example in the mid pipe have a 2" diameter pipe going into the cats and 2.25" leading out of the cats. I also believe the stock piping going into the mufflers is 2" as well. Even Tanabe uses 2" until it merges into the flange where it connects to the stock resonator."

i wonder if it would be good or bad to use 2.5 with an aftermarket piping or too keep it around 2 to 2.25

it doesn't change the cats. the lexus hks only goes from the resonator back just like the tanabe and hi-power hks...atleast from my understanding.

What do you think in my case doing the full custom dual would make the best gains? If I put an x-pipe in place of the the secondaries, or got these resonators?

x-pipe in place of the secondary cats and put some resonators on between the mufflers and the x pipe.

I just received those 12" resonators yesterday and they look beautiful and only weigh 2.5lbs each. Unless I get a better idea for an exhaust or a new one comes out with promise I'll probably have these installed in 2 weeks.

Speaking of custom exhausts, saw a post on youtube yesterday from a muffler shop called Kinneys Muffler Shop and the exhaust looks beautiful. Only problem is it sounds awful and the x pipe could be better. Throw on some resonators before the mufflers. and upgrade the x-pipe to something like the Burns one and it would be perfect.
