Default Electronic limit question...

If I buy 3.76LSD for my GS400 I understand that my top mph will be reduced from the stock 149mph...is that because of the actual gearing or is it beause of the electronic limiter on the top speed? If because of the electronic limiter can a S-AFC controller remove this limiter?

I think it's electronic and no, a SAFC has nothing to do with that.

From what I understand it will be due to the gearing. I believe the SAFC2 and RSM both have a speed limiter removal feature on them, but the 3.73 gearing will run out of steam at around 140-145mph due to being redlined in 5th. With the stock 3.23 I have been told the top speed with the limiter removed is about 155-160mph. In my opinion the top speed drop isnt a big deal because most people don't ever get above 120mph, my concern with the 3.73 is the gas mileage loss on the freeway.
