I'd ask this question again as we get closer to summer. Right now, it's probably cold enough everywhere that sucking in the warmer air radiating from the engine is having very little effect. As it get's warmer and people get stuck in traffic, etc., and seeing the engine temp needle creep higher and higher...

is it really going to affect it that much? i've had it since may and had no problems at all... i drove stop and go a lot too. i dont think the needle ever passed the 1/2 way point.

and if it is, then why are none of the companies coming out with a CAI? i've heard mixed opinions about SR vs. CAI for this car...

It doesn't matter what the ambient temperature is, an increase in intake temp due to the radiator WILL reduce power with all else equal. Of course, there could be other qualities of the intake that could offset the losses due to temps enough to cause a net gain (reduced restriction, better harmonics, etc.).

I've got the Injen and i love it. It begins to wake up after 3000 rpms then you can really tell it's there. If i'm just going to work crusing at around 70mph i don't even notice it. Perfect.

K&N, so far so great. The sound alone is worth it.

I just installed the Injen. I like it a lot. But I've noticed recently that I'm not getting as good of gas mileage as I was before. Has anyone else noticed that after installing their intake?

I have the Fujita and it's hard to distinguish the sound since I have the Tanabe as well, but at WOT, you can def hear the intake..
