Default New Tanabe exhaust with pics

Thought I would share a few photos and write up of my new Tanabe exhaust. I had it put on several days ago and I love it! The sound is just what I was looking for. I also think it looks so much better than the stock setup.

The sound level and tone are subtle but sweet. When you start the car, you hear a much nicer initial sound. Down at idle you get a subtle but rich deep tone that lets you know the damn car is running. When you accelerate you hear a deep tone that increases in sound with the amount of gas you’re giving. When you reach cruising speed, the sound is the same as oem. But as soon as you give it any amount of gas you hear some tone. No drone or anything like that. It is a conservative while slightly aggressive sound. To me, it is how the car should sound from the factory. MUCH better sound than the G35 in my opinion. I have a friend with a 06 g35 coupe so I have a very good basis of comparison. I have always enjoyed the sound of his car and have always been disappointed with the sound of my Lexus. Not any more!!! The best way I can describe it that when you are giving the car some juice, your foot and your ear feel connected. Instead of solely hearing the engine, you now get some sound balance from behind you!

The looks are another added bonus. The tips fit perfect. They fill the gap in the bumper up much better. These pictures don’t really do it justice. It looks much better in person.
The polished steel cans adds just enough to the overall look without being a distraction to the car.

I can not imagine any car enthusiast who would not appreciate the sound of this system. Again, it is on the conservative end of the spectrum. Of course the OEM system does not even register on the spectrum. Best 6 bills have spent in awhile!!!

Yes, it is any easy instal. With that being said, I took mine to a shop. It took them 15 minutes after it was up on the rack. No special tools and it fits in perfect. I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Hey guys, I noticed this thread on the exhaust. We have this exhaust on group buy right now. It is 559.00 shipped and can be found here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=259848

Also as a note, Tanabe is currently out of stock, but will be sending me more in about two weeks. So we will be keeping our GB going for as long as you guys want it.

So this exhaust is slightly lighter than the stock one? HP/TQ gains about 3-5 throughout the power band? After seeing these photos this exhaust is looking very tempting. Of course if I got this it would be dyno'd before and after.

Thanks! I searched this forum a lot for pictures and didn't find many good ones. Lots of pictures, but not many good ones.

I hope these pictures help others out who are considering this system. Again, it looks better in person.

As far as sound clips. Tanabe has some on their site and youtube has some. None of them have been able to capture the low level tone of this system. I was VERY suprised at how low of tone this thing makes. As my wife said after the instal, "it sounds like a fast car now"!! I gave her a smile and said thanks.
