Question Tanabe exhaust installation

I should be receiving my Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust pretty soon. I've read countless posts about how easy it is to install, but I've never found anything on HOW to actually do it. I've never done anything like this before. Is there anything that outlines the steps or a DIY thread that I can look through?

I've never done it on a IS, but if you're mechanically inclined it should be pretty straight forward. Just lift up your car, unbolt the OEM exhaust, and then reverse the process with aftermarket exhaust.

here's from Ichigo's tanabe install thread...

"Installation:

Installation took about an hour and a half in total. A friend and I jacked up the car on one side and slid under and unbolted the stock exhaust. The hardest part was getting the exhaust off of the rubber connectors. Those things are on pretty good and took some effort to get off. Once the stock exhaust was removed, it was a cake walk the rest of the way.

We put the tanabe exhaust together(comes in 2 pieces) and from there, it was a straight bolt on and lined up perfect with the car. The only question that came up was this black cylinder connected to the stock exhaust (see pic below). Didnt know what it was for (any help would be appreciated)."

entire thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...xhaust+install

btw... i honestly think it should take closer to 30 min to install.

I don't have the exhaust yet but I'd rather not pay anybody to do it. Since you know how, any tips would be appreciated.

A little WD-40 could've cut the effort in removing the exhaust from the rubber connectors in less than half the time.

We need more people like you on CL that are willing to help out others with no charge. We are suppose to be here for that anyway. Now if the person decides to give you some cash for your time spent or you have a pre-arranged aggrement on labor that's a different story. I gave my left over Rvinyl to other CL members for free. I didn't even charge them for shipping. It's just a way of helping others out.
