As far as the testing went, when the ESK was engaged alone, it did not affect the time due to it only altering the fluid pressure in the transmission. But with the VB upgrade, it was actually modifying the mechanical part of the springs in the VB allowing the springs to not fully compress therefore the delay time between shifts are eliminated.

Cool! Thanks for the info.

it is a upgraded VB that i have with the rods. but i still dont get a thud going onto second from first. i also have a 2800 TC and 3.76 Torsen LSD, will that affect the tranny from grabbing from first to second ?? could the TC be the problem? cause i hit the rev limiter more after the VB upgrade.

As noted in a previous post, 1-2 will not be affected unless you drilled out the VB. So, did you drill it out?

alright i just got the a aswer.
"The one you got was completely done. The plate was drilled, and the
solenoids that we modify were all done."
so what could the problem be if i dont have hard shift from first to second.

Shane, I'm not sure why your shifts are not firm and hard after the VB upgrade. Is the shift from 2-3, 3-4,4-5 still shift hard or is it acting like it's not doing anything? From my understanding, the transmission doesn't shift hard when you're not on the throttle during your shifts.

it shifts hard all the time into third. and it doesnt shift as hard into 4th and 5th under normal driving but when i floor it, you do feel the shift into 4th and 5th. but from first and second.. just hits limiter and shifts pretty much like normal.
oh well.. i still like it!

This is true. The only time you send in your entire VB to have it modify is if you want the harsh 1st to 2nd shift. As far as the basic VB goes, you just need to install the rods and be done with it. But make sure the "magic wand" and springs doesn't pop out and fly away when you lower the VB itself.
