How do you get the exhaust on the IS250 to sound like them? I was thinking about modifying the exhaust with just glass packs, but leave the muffler the same. Do you think that will give it a slightly louder tone? I don't want it loud like a regular exhaust system, but I do like the aggresive tone that accompany the 350Z's. It's not loud under idle, but once you step on it, wow.

Did it sound really loud or is it like the TRD exhaust? I love the G35 sound, man, a perfect blend of quietness and agressiveness all at the same time. If I can get my car to sound like that, I would be very happy. You think by replacing the resonator with just a straight through pipe would make it sound like that?

I should point out that I don't care about performance gains or not. It's just cosmetics and mainly for the sound. Don't want loud, but quiet with a little grunt added to it when accelerating hard.

exhaust sounds are also based on the engine, every engine will sound slightly different even with the same muffler.

yes. the length of the exhaust piping will be different. cats will be different. engine will be different size, different firing sequence, etc. how much different they will sound is another story though.

In another thread, looks like the Megan exhaust system sounds the best. It's just the type I want. It has a really nice agressive tone to it, not ricey at all and at the same time it's not too loud like some of those other aftermarket exhaust systems. I think that's the one I want. I'll do a search on it....

i just got the HKS put in and i love it, a lil louder than my sis g35, but has its own growl and adds a lil character to the engine, just like the G35 has its own character. At full throttle, the exhaust and fujita intake sound ridiculous, better than i had ever hoped

Too bad the exhaust system for the IS are sooooo freaking expensive. I like Tom's, but dang, $1,000+!!!!!!! I'm so use to the $300 complete exhaust setups.

I'm glad they are as cheap as they are. The exhaust systems for my last car (S2000) were much more.
