Default Just Wondering....

Sry for my ignorance guys, but i was wondering about the 2jz and 1jz engines. What come in the is300's? Whats the difference between the two? size? power? On the is300 motors how much power is possible? I know that people say that the same engine is in supras? arent the internals different? and compression? Can someone please enlighten me? lol Im getting ready to buy an is300 and am just trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks for the help.

There are alot of info out there on this matter...

Basics:
IS300 has a 2JZ-GE VVT-i engine

Supra with Turbo has a 2JZ-GTE non VVT-i (US Spec)

Stock GE block on a IS is good for ~3xxrwhp

Boosted folks swap out our shortblock for the GTE shortblock, or GTE internals.

1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L that came with twin or single turbo. 2JZ-GTE is a 3L Twin Turbo. 2JZ-GE non-turbo 3L.

A complete GTE swap (long block) on either 2JZ or 1JZ is hard to do on a IS. Never seen a 1JZ swap, but there are few ppl who has done a 2JZ-GTE swap on a IS.

Save up for boost and build it bulletproof
