When you consider that you get to keep your warranty, with no issues/labor cost, perhaps not.

Dang $5500 is a GRIP for a supercharger! Installing it is just half the way, you're going to need a proper tune to squeeze every last pony out of that thing.

Just let homeboy do what he wants. Everybody on this site is telling him to wait. Waiting for later doesn't progress the aftermarket for the IS. We have to modify our cars, before any company considers any serious aftermarket application. And you guys wonder why Audi and BMW guys says Lexus aren't enthusiast cars. I understand these our fairly new cars. But the 1st gen IS and 2nd gen GS are previous models, we have at least have a couple of current gen cars with serious mods out there to represent us.

I don't know.. 80hp for 5500? But it would definately be cool! Out motors run on such a high compression having boost set at 2 to 4 psi seems.. weak. I don't know, I'd like to see a turbo come out but really where would we put it? Our engines are so tuned as is I have to wonder if changing them would decrease power. I'm no engineer but these are things I wonder about!

I'm used to seeing spend 1000 and pulling 150Hp or more out a motor. But thats the beauty of Chevy Big Blocks. :P

I just look at it this way. I don't think you can squeeze that much more out of the 350. Furthermore, the price of 5500 put it into the 335i range w/vishnu tuning. Why not just get that? I guess cuz you like the looks of the IS better. who knows.

Good luck. and yes, I would love to see a 1/4 mi. or dyno from a supercharged is. RoRo has great documentation of his mods and gains, but has never posted any times from him doing the 1/4 mi. since the SC has been added. I think he is busy now moving and such too, so we prob. wont see anything posted for awhile.

ddquach has done a dyno 1/4 mile i think on his car.

Did DD ever post it?

I just want to see a dyno.. on it. He's got a beautiful car.. Curious about his boost too.

What makes you think the 350 is "so tuned"? I don't think they are at all since they are putting out less than 90 hp per liter. The engines that I would consider "so tuned" are putting out 120 hp per liter in stock trim (S2000).

The LMS was only adding ~40 bhp to the wheels.

Unless they've upgraded the kit since, you're not going to see 80 at the wheels.

Just make sure you do a before and after dyno on the same dyno. They can be manipulated but not by +40 hp.

You would definitely feel the difference. 5-10, probably not but ~40, yes.
