Default Custom Exhaust specs

Aloha everyone. I just bought my GS300 around 2 months ago...finally... & after coming from a blown & lifted Tacoma its a nice change of pace than driving the truck everyday.
After looking high & low for a Stainless Cat-Back locally, I can't find a fully stainless system for less than 1100 shipped to Hawai'i(Tanabe Touring). So, I decided to get a custom one made at a local shop, problem is I'm not sure what specs some of the better cat-back systems have, or what to ask for.
What I'm looking for is something thats stainless and something thats silent at idle but sounds nice & deep at normal throttle. What piping diameter, resonators, do I need an X-pipe ect? I've searched but haven't found exact diameters, or I've found custom systems mentioned for the 400 & 430, but I'm looking for GS300 specifics, so I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Mahalo in advance.

Well I got an appointment Saturday to do the exhaust. I figured out what muffler's I'm gonna go with now. But does anyone have any suggestions on pipe diameter or if I need an X-pipe with the 2JZ? I'd appreciate any suggestions whatsoever.

if your doing catback the pipe has already been joined into a single exhaust so there is no need to do an X-pipe. I believe those are only "needed" on V-8 dual exhaust setups. I would suggest 2.5 or 2.75" pipe, not sure about the resonators...i still have mine on and I like the way it sounds...

2.5 is what I was thinking, keep from losing too much back pressure, but still be an improvement over stock. Makes sense with the X pipe as well. Do you remember offhand what the L-tuned diameter is? Thanks for the reply, I'm still lost when it comes to this engine.

Right on. Thanks for the insight sock. Thats a big help, I appreciate it. I guess 2.5 is a happy medium for the piping.

Is there anyone out there with a Tanabe system that knows the diameter at the Y split & back?
