I hope we never find out what the SC would do on a 250. It would take an insane person to spend that kind of money on a 250 when it won't ever be as fast as a 350.

The IS-f doesnt even put out numbers that are that much more impressive than the 350, had the opportunity to see it at a local track, couldnt break 13.1, plus its heavier than the current 350

Some IS 350's here with bolt on mods can break 13.1...

Only 1 350 has broken 13.1, and it (mine) had R compound tires, and no passenger seat, spare tire, and an empty fuel tank.

I'm really doubting that an IS-F has been at the track in Florida.

There are several Florida forums that are really active that I read regularly and if a IS-F appeared at Moroso, Orlando, Brandenton or Gainesville it would've been all over the place.

He didn't see an IS-F. There's only one "IS-F" (the black test mule) in the U.S. right now, and it's not in Florida - especially not this weekend...

Why is the aftermarket so poor for the IS compared to the 350z - GT35? They are 3.5 liters, have turbo-sc kits that are proven to run in the 12's while keeping the cost of the kits reasonable compared to what's available for the IS.

There are some pretty major changes that need to be made to the 350 to make it handle lots of boost. The LMS SC kit is kept at low boost for a reason. After doing some playing on dougs car, i would HIGHLY recommend a water/meth injection setup as a next step for the car. That will help run a more aggressive timing curve w/ the added boost. I am slowly working on the next step above that, but the new computer is more advanced and very different from its JDM counterpart, so its a little tough to have any kind of educated guess on what will and won't work w/ out just trying things out. Now if someone wanted to make the jump to a stand alone right away w/ either SC kit, i think we could see some pretty major power gains.

I wouldn't bet on a decent standalone ECU for this car anytime soon without loosing LOTS of the car's bells and whistles. The 2IS has a dozen or so ECUs (ABS, VSC, air bags, etc.) that work together via CAN bus, and I doubt there will be a CAN bus enabled standalone that will be able to mediate all those other ECUs. The keyless operation would be a nightmare too.

It would of course have to run as a "piggy back" rather than a full remove the stock ECU situation, it really just depends how the stock ECU is going to respond to the car running w/ out a lot of the factory sensors being fed back to it, or if a massive number of parameters would have to be simulated going back to the stock ECU to keep it happy enough to allow for the other vehicle functions to still work. Like i said .... nobody that knows anything about the ECU has released anything about it to even have an educated guess.
